One Step at a time

The purpose of this blog is to motivate and educate people to take up long distance running as a long term hobby. About seven years back when I was still in studying, we once had a weekend soccer game. I could not run for more then ten minutes on the soccer field. This was the early warning bell for me that prompted to think of doing something. It was a friend of mine who cajoled me into getting on to the ground and start running. The first time, I could barely run two rounds (800 meters) without stopping. So that was the beginning. That was the one step I started with. Running is not an art. Especially long distance running requires perseverance, and practice. Today I've run a half marathon at what is a decent timing.

In the next few posts I'll focus on the weekly regimen and the diet for beginners to intermediate runners to prepare themselves for a run like a 10K or a half marathon. I will also specifically focus on vegetarian diet in this blog. The second purpose of this blog is to give quality information on running conditions, and facilities available at the various venues in India. A lot of times what is posted by the hosts is not completely accurate.
